Chaotic Holidays
It seems each year just gets a little more chaotic at Christmas. I guess it’s partly because those young nieces and nephews get just a little older and get more rambunctious. Case in point was when the impromptu wrapping paper tube fight broke out at my in-laws.
They have a huge dog named Gateway(because he favors a Gateway computer box) that is part German Shepherd but is a very gentile dog. He usually stays outside but on occasion is allowed to come inside. This weekend it was bitterly cold and rainy, so he got a reprieve and was let in to stay warm and dry.

He sat quietly by the door during the aforementioned wrapper paper tube fight. He didn’t bark, yelp, or try to join in on all the commotion. He’s very well-mannered to say the least. If only I could say the same thing about the nieces and nephews. (half-kidding here)
Also at my brother-in-law’s house is four small dogs that have taken up residence. We are not quite prepared to have a dog at our new place, but I would love to have one sometime this year. I’d still be happy with a Nintendo dog, which ironically does favor Gateway. Maybe those dogs will still be there when we visit in the spring, and we’ll bring one home with us. It would be nice to have a small dog to keep outside. I’m not sure how the cats would welcome a new addition but hopefully they will adjust to another pet.
